Northeast Kingdom History Day

2015

Wednesday, March 11, 2015

5th through 12th grades

Open to public schools, independent schools, and home school students

History Day is an opportunity for independent inquiry based research on topics of historic interest. The results will be presented as Exhibits, Performances, or Documentary Media. Primary and secondary sources must be used, bibliographies included and a research plan/description written. Individual or groups (2-5 students) research welcomed.
This year’s state and national theme is “Leadership and Legacy in History.” Students taking part in NEK History Day are not required to follow the national theme; however, if a student wishes to compete in the state and national History Day they do need to follow the theme.
Held at North Country Union High School in Newport, VT, NEK History Day is organized by the Old Stone House Museum. The event is open to the public in the evening, when the projects are evaluated, and winners are announced.
