NEK Button Up Event: Weatherization For All
On Saturday, October 15th from 10 AM to 12 PM, the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village is hosting one of Button Up Vermont’s annual campaign events! This year’s theme is Weatherization For All: Programs & Resources for Making Efficiency Affordable.
Northeastern Vermont Development Association (NVDA), Energy Committees and Energy Partners from across the NEK have worked together to offer a free, family-friendly, and affordability-focused event to everyone interested in energy efficiency.
A panel of representatives from HEAT Squad, NETO, NEKCA, USDA Rural Development, RuralEdge, Efficiency Vermont, VPPSA, and VEC will provide information on incentives, rebates, grants, and programs for homeowners, renters, and landlords, alike. This is the opportunity to ask questions such as “How can I afford to weatherize?”, “Is it worth the time and cost?”, and “Where do I start?”
Childcare will be offered during the event, and local, seasonal refreshments, door prizes, and raffles will be provided. Guests have the chance to win a free home energy audit from HEAT Squad, gift cards to local hardware stores to encourage DIY weatherization, and more! After the main event at our Grammar School building (map and directions below), all guests are invited to a complimentary tour of the Old Stone House Museum starting at 12 PM, or can explore the historic village grounds on their own; self-guided tour materials will be available free of charge.
Registration for this event is encouraged and appreciated!
