Registration for 2020 Time Travelers Camp
Courage, determination, fierce independence – these are the themes of the Old Stone House Museum’s Time Travelers’ Camp this summer in honor of Mr. Alexander Twilight’s 225th birthday.
During camp week this summer (July 27th-31st), campers will get the unprecedented opportunity to get to know Alexander Twilight the person. The children will sing songs and perform short plays based on the plot and themes of Alexander’s life they’ve researched in the museum’s archives and collections. Important discussions about diversity, culture, overcoming adversity, and our state and nation’s history during the mid 1800’s will further inform the content of the songs and plays. In addition, campers will bring the 1830’s back to life by re-creating daily life in Brownington Village, complete with an apothecary, general store, potter, forge, kitchen garden and more.
Furthermore, if you’ve ever been a camper at the Old Stone House, you and your family are invited to a Time Travelers’ Reunion party on Thursday, July 30th beginning with a potluck dinner at 6, followed by a bonfire and nighttime nature walk in honor of Mr. Twilight’s amazing natural history curriculum. Former and current campers who plan to attend the reunion party can RSVP Here.
