Whisk Broom Making
Saturday, Mar. 8, 10:30am to 12pm
Join Lindsey Warren and Byron Doyle for traditional whisk broom wrapping. Participants will learn about the history of Appalachian-style broom making and go home with a whisk broom of their own making. Brooms have been used for centuries to sweep caves, cabins, and castles. Before the late 1700 brooms in America were home and hand-made. Take this opportunity to make your own, in a community with stories.
$12 per child.
Ages 7 to 12. Younger students who have previously taken the whisk broom class may sign up for the turkey wing.
