Director of Development & Communications
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
EMPLOYMENT: The Director of Development & Communications is a part-time, year around position. This position is 80%FTE (32 hrs per week).
Pay commensurate with experience ($40,000 annually)

Primary Role:
Communications
- produce and deliver the museum’s monthly e-newsletter
- maintain and create the museum’s social media platforms
- maintain certain aspects of the museum’s website
- maintain the museum’s relationships with media agents/partners; produce marketing tools, including the placement of ads
- collaborate with other staff to ensure a seamless and effective communications and marketing system
Development
- oversee annual appeal campaign, October-January and spring fundraiser mailing, March-June
- maintain accounts in donor database
- prepare and maintain spreadsheets of annual and special appeals, generating reports for Director and Development Committee
- organize mailings and special appeals, including town appropriations
- lead/assist with fundraising events/efforts
- research donors and possible funding sources
Shared Responsibilities:
- Participate in daily operations, including greeting visitors, providing tours, and assisting with the Museum shop
- Support programs and events as part of the Museum’s collaborative team approach
- Carry out general administrative tasks, including committee work, and other duties as necessary
