March Educator’s Corner: Get Ready For Women’s History Month

In February, we shared our online exhibit on Henry “Box” Brown with area schools to use for Black History Month. Now we are gearing up to celebrate Women’s History Month this March!

Museum staff have created easily usable and digestible lesson plans pivoting around local suffragette Abigail Chandler to share with area schools. We’ve also included the new virtual exhibit on Mary Lyon. We hope that educators find these lessons and materials useful during this month dedicated to celebrating women’s history.

Our staff has created lesson plans for all grade levels, including kindergarten-to-third grades, fourth-to-eighth grades and high school. Each of the grade specific plans include introductory reading materials, worksheets, images and discussions. You can find all of these materials by following the link below.
