About the Exhibit
Organized around the concepts of identity, land, community, persistence, and managing change,
this engaging exhibit explores life in small towns and rural communities in America. The Old
Stone House Museum is looking forward to working with our neighbors to include your stories
and experiences in this exhibit! Together, we can bring the uniqueness of the Northeast Kingdom
to this nationally significant exhibition.
Get Involved!
As we prepare for this exciting exhibition, we invite you to volunteer as a greeter, monitor,
guide, or docent, ensuring that we can reach as broad an audience as possible. We will review
some local history with you and provide training materials to help you learn the content of the
exhibit. We also hope to learn more from you, so share your Main Street memories now, and help
us showcase Orlean County!
Greeters: Welcome visitors with a friendly smile.
Monitors: Ensure the safety of the exhibit and that the exhibit runs smoothly.
Guides/Docents: Share information and stories with guests.
Field Trip Docents: Interact with students and teachers on field trips to the exhibit.
