Raise your hand if you or someone you know has had a great experience at the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village! This Giving Tuesday, please consider donating AND/OR sharing a photo. Tag us (@oldstonehousevt) in your favorite photo from an Old Stone House Museum experience! We would love to see them and celebrate happy memories connected to this special place.
Please also consider a donation during this day of giving and share in the spirit of supporting a good cause. Every contribution makes a difference. Here are some thought-provoking words from our Executive Director Molly Veysey:
Dear friend,
I have grown to deeply love this place. I watch the seasons pass from my office which, almost 200 years ago, was a room for female students of Alexander Twilight. Now the snow adorns everything outside the window: the old maples, the buildings, the Giving Garden now resting peacefully for the season.
Spending time here brings a person to the realization that each of our lives are a piece to a much larger, more important puzzle. My years here at the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village are part of a long continuum of people who love it as I do.
It’s incumbent on each of us in our time to ensure its longevity, its vibrancy and its resilience, even in the face of a looming recession and the increasing costs of absolutely everything, it seems. Right now, we are the stewards of this incredibly special and important place and the stories it holds.
During this time of giving, please help me ensure that the Old Stone House Museum & Historic Village remains a vibrant and outstanding organization because the people of our future deserve to love it too.
Sincerely,
Molly Veysey
Executive Director
